Vibrant, Heat-Loving Blooms for Pollinator & Culinary Gardens
Marigold Florida Orange is a compact, sun-loving annual that bursts with bright, pure orange blooms all summer long. Maturing in just 10–12 weeks, this variety stands out for its robust, upright habit and ability to thrive in both garden beds and patio pots. Renowned for attracting beneficial insects and pollinators, Florida Orange marigolds are a staple in Florida gardens and beyond, valued for their reliability, heat tolerance, and continuous color display. With edible petals and natural pest-repellent properties, this marigold is as practical as it is beautiful.
Ideal for ornamental borders, culinary garnishes, and companion planting, Florida Orange marigolds offer a multitude of uses. Their vivid orange flowers not only brighten up landscapes but also attract bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects, supporting healthy garden ecosystems. The edible petals add a splash of color and subtle citrus flavor to salads, desserts, and drinks, making them a favorite among chefs and home gardeners alike. Compact and sturdy, these marigolds are perfect for mass plantings, edging, and container displays, and their pest-deterring qualities help protect neighboring vegetables from aphids and nematode.
Growing Marigold Florida Orange is easy and rewarding. Plants reach a mature height of 6–8 inches and spread 8–12 inches, making them ideal for small spaces and dense plantings. Sow seeds indoors 4–6 weeks before the last frost or directly outdoors after frost danger has passed. Space plants 8–12 inches apart in full sun or part shade and well-drained soil. Marigolds are drought-tolerant but appreciate regular watering, especially during establishment. Deadheading spent blooms encourages continuous flowering from early summer until the first frost.
Growing Success Tips:
- Plant in full sun for the most prolific blooms and strongest stems.
- Use well-drained soil; amend sandy soils with compost to retain moisture.
- Space plants 8–12 inches apart for healthy growth and airflow.
- Deadhead regularly to prolong blooming and maintain a tidy appearance.
Marigold Florida Orange delivers exceptional value as a low-maintenance, multi-purpose flower that thrives in heat and supports pollinators. Its edible, pest-repelling blooms and compact habit make it a must-have for vibrant, productive gardens.
For the freshest edible petals, harvest flowers in the morning when blooms are fully open and vibrant.
